• Question: What do u like best about science?

      Wow, that’s a great question. I think what I like best is the creativity of science. As a scientist, I can decide what I want to discover about the universe, then figure out how to go about discovering it. And if you get bored of a particular question, then you can think up a new one to answer.

      I agree, this is a good question! For me I think that what is best about science is how massively complex things like animals, people, galaxies, the universe as a whole, can emerge from really quite a small number of rules in the way things interact. For example galaxies come about because of gravity, but they are such beautiful things to come from something we learn about in high school!

      I love science because it is everywhere! From the food we eat to the clothes we wear to what happens inside us. Literally everything is about science.

      It’s fascinating and fun, and though it is hard sometimes there’s a lot of satisfaction to be had when it goes right and you feel like you are discovering something new that people haven’t thought of before.

      In science, you look at the data and then find the most likely explanation for the patterns you see. You need to be creative to the point of being artistic in order to get your data and even to ask the right question, but the answers are always based on observations and not just some opinion. I really like that!
