      Yes. Usually, the female lays eggs on the bed of the sea or lake, then a male swims over and releases his sperm to fertilise them. Then the fertilised eggs develop into little fishes.

      Interesting fish fact for you. Some fish e.g. wrasse, begin life as females but they can turn into males later.
