  No, I do not think the world will end in 2012, I would bet all my belongings on that! The reason that people think it will end is because the Mayan Calendar ends on the 21st December 2012. The Mayans were a people who lived in what is now Mexico a fez thousand years ago. Some people decided that the fact that the calendar ended meant that the world would end too. How the Mayans would have known this is something these people never explain. I think it is likely the Mayans just would have started their calendar over again.

  I would also bet all my belongings on the world not ending in 2012. But this is because if it didn’t end, I would win the bet, and if it did end, it wouldn’t matter that I had lost the bet because the world would have ended anyway!

  No, the world is not going to end. I think if you looked across world religions and sects, you would find predictions of the world ending on average every 5 years or so, if not less. In fact, a few weeks ago on the 21st of May the world was going to end yet again, and it didn’t.

  No I don’t think it is going to end. I like Steven said there is no evidence for it. And as Sam says, if I am wrong it doesn’t matter because it will be too late!
