Time actually stops at the event horizon of the black hole, I think. Or at least ceases to mean anything. The event horizon is the region around the black hole where not even light can escape the gravity, which is why they are black.
They are really cool objects, and they aren’t actually totally black, they emit particles, called Hawkins Radiation, after Stephen Hawkins who discovered it. So black holes eventually lose all their mass and die in a massive blast of radiation.
As you can maybe tell, I am a big fan of black holes =}
