Steven Daly answered on 21 Jun 2011:
1000 years is a very short space of time for a galaxy, it will look almost exactly the same as it does now. Because of the vast size of the galaxy, most things happen of millions of years.
Vera Weisbecker answered on 21 Jun 2011:
Steven is right. 1000 years are a tiny amout of time for galaxies. Just imagine how tiny the human life is compared to galactic timescales!
Sam Tazzyman answered on 22 Jun 2011:
The Earth is around 4.5 billion years old, so 1000 years (incredible as it seems) is a very short space of time!
