I didn’t always want to be a scientist – I didn’t even really know how one became one until recently. I studied mathematics as my first degree, then I didn’t know what I wanted to do so I went travelling for a bit and worked odd jobs. Then I looked online and found an interesting PhD course in mathematics and biology and thought it sounded cool. And that’s how I got into evolution.

When I was younger I wanted to be a pathologist. This is a doctor who looks at how people died – I was a bit odd as a child!

But then I started to like Chemistry more and more so I am a Chemist.

My teachers were very good at school and they made the lessons fun and exciting, especially my chemistry teachers!
