Well, amino acids come in two different forms, called R and S, and we are made from S-type amino acids. I think that this is because in space, the two different types react differently with light from nearby stars, and this makes them become separated. so you have places with more R and places with more S type. If a comet or asteroid passed through the part with more S-type amino acids and went on to hit the Earth, then this would explain why we are made from S amino acids.
